A Brief History of United Kingdom
The United
Kingdom has historically played a leading role in the development of
parliamentary democracy and in the advancement of literature and science. At

Economic and Monetary Union. Decentralization and constitutional reform have
been major recent problems in the United Kingdom. The Scottish Parliament, the
National Assembly for Wales and the Northern Ireland Assembly were created in
1999, but the latter was suspended until May 2007 due to disputes over the
peace process.
